What this cluster covers

This cluster collects the buildings in the archive you can actually walk into. Everything filed here is currently open in some form — as a house museum, a foundation, a chapel, a working estate or a public interior — and each entry names its heritage or listing status so you know what you are looking at before you go.

The guides are grouped two ways: by region, so the stops sit within a day of one another, and by the kind of visitor. An art lover's route through the South of France runs Villa E-1027 at Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Matisse's Chapelle du Rosaire at Vence and the art and architecture estate at Château La Coste; a craft route through Andalusia or a modernist route through Finland reads the same way.

Visiting notes here stay deliberately qualitative — which season the light is worth planning around, whether the interior is only shown on a guided tour, how far the walk from the station really is. Opening hours and ticket prices change too often to be published responsibly, so we link the official source instead and leave the booking to you.
