Bespoke · By introduction · A few projects a year

We choose the next adventure.
Like true artists.

Bespoke is limited. Projects are handpicked — by introduction, by conversation, by instinct. We accept extraordinary opportunities and we say no to almost everything else. We do not enter tenders or design competitions; that way of working ended in the 1990s.

Most projects fail on the business side. Architects get pushed to cut fees. Budgets triple. Blame lands on the creative team that asked, from the start, for the scope to be done properly.

We are done with that recipe. So we built two doors. Bespoke — for owners ready to commission architecture without compromise. AI — for everyone else.

How we choose
01 · The site

A place with a soul.

Coastline, ruin, forest, rooftop, a difficult plot nobody else wants. We are drawn to terrain before we are drawn to programme.

02 · The client

Someone who wants to be surprised.

Who lets us push, and pushes back. Two years at the same table — we'd like to enjoy the company.

03 · The brief

Something we haven't drawn before.

If the answer is already written into the brief, we say no — kindly. We are here to draw what nobody asked for, and to be right about it.

We say no to tenders. We say no to design-by-committee. We say no to projects that already have the answer written into the brief.

We say yes maybe four or five times a year — to the ones that scare us a little, and to the people we want to sit at a table with for two years.
